Default RAYS GramLights 57F Fitment

Does anyone have any experience with the fitment of the RAYS 57F 18X8.5 45 offset, 5x114.3 on an 05 with JDM pinks or something with a similar drop? Is there any rubbing issues at full lock?

Front should be fine. You may get slight rubbing in the rear depending on what size tires you run. As long as you don't go too wide you'll be fine.

245 was the width I was looking at... Kumho ECSTA SPT most in likely.

I have 245/40/18 Bridgestone RE050A Pole Positions with Espelir GT springs and have no rubbing issues so far, even up a steep driveway where I have to enter at near full lock.

Don't run the Ecsta SPTs if you like performance.

anyway, i ran wheels with that size and offset with a 235/40 18 and i had room for more tire.

I heard that the SPTs were a good blend of performance, price, and durability. I've been threatening to start autoxing and but my STi is also my daily driver. Any other rubber suggestions?

I have a friend with the SPTs and he HATES them, squirmy, squishy, very bad for autox.

he got them for next to nothing and regrets it.

there are much better tires out there for cheap.

RT615
RS2
RE01R (higher side but still)
FK452 (less performance but better life)

The STI deserves a much better tire than an SPT.

what other questions do you have about rubbing?

I've got JDM Pinks, RCE camberplates that give the drop, 57F's and Falklen 615's 245 x 18. I do get rubbing in the back when I take turns hard enough. I havn't worried about it though because you have to be pushing the car pretty hard to get them to rub and I only use those tires on the street. I use a couple of sets of stock ones for the track because the tires are cheeper.

what camber are you running in the rear?

if you added a little (-.2 more) you could get rid of the rubbing.

I'm interested in this as well, I'm trying to decide what size RT615s to get for those rims. 235s or 245s? I am running KW v3s and I'm afraid too much camber will cause 245 tires to rub the coilover, this is the case on my 255/40/17s on stock BBS rims.

well i'm running 235s on my 8.5 +45mm wheels with -1.7 rear camber and have ZERO rubbing.

the KW's have a good amount of room inboard, less than the stock struts (obviously).

Thank you. I just read many different wheel and tire threads where you've contributed greatly. Just wanted to let you know that your input is appreciated.

On a side note, I've decided to go with Falken FK452s instead of RT615s because this will be my street setup. While I love the performance of the 615s, their tread life is not good enough for me on the street.

I'm running 245's with zero issues on stock height. There's another guy running 245's with Helix DNA's with no issues (mild drop). I hear on 245s with S-techs or lower than 1.5" you will get minor rubbing in the rear, but no problems with the front.

Cheers,

Gary

Thanks everyone!

Gary,
What tire are you running?
By the by, I pulled the trigger and got a set in black (darkcopse). You said the caps and lugs were included... do I need anything else? ...other than a nice set of tires
