Calm down everyone. Jeebus.

Short (tactful) answer: Do not do that. It should state in your manual why this is a bad idea. Not that the manual knows all.

drastic questions call for drastic measures.

do you think people read the manual?

do you think people search these forums anymore?

do you think people give 2 cans of crap if all they are doing is having other people do their work for them?

no, no, no.

sure i'm strung out, but that isn't the point.

the point is, you need to start giving points to people who don't search.

and lots of them, ban if neccessary.

b/c this is starting to get insane.

You're overlooking the fact that it is not your obligation to answer stupid questions. You have the freedom to laugh in silence. Like this = but without posting.

This method would result in two things. 1) You would be happier. 2) You wouldn't be strung out.

And although I am a moderator on IWSTI, I'm not specifically a moderator in this forum. But you knew that already.

CN: Calm down. Have some dip.

plan to get new rims, not a huge fan on the stock look.
It's possible, and there are guys doing it. It does look cool but there is also downsides. Usually on full-time AWD cars (as opposed to part time like the GTR) it makes more sense to run larger front tires for track use. Furthermore, as several people have mentioned before, it's harder on the diff. Not as hard as running different sizes (I blew up my GTR's attessa system in less than 1000 miles runnin 18"/19" combo LOL), but it is still hard on the diff. If you want to do it you can - I would stay away from substantial size differences in the front and rear however.

Cheers,

Gary

im running stagger offset... as long as you have same tire, i think you should be fine as far as your differential. my offsets are pretty close from rear and front(47 an 45), but the disk is different. mainly to create larger lip in the rear. and disk is design to fit larger or smaller brake caliper. and since rear brakes are smaller you can get lower disk. example 18x8.5 45+ with R-disk is equal to 2cm of lip, but 18x8.5 45+ with O disk = 4cm of lip. so they are same offse, but rear can have o disk instead of r due to smaller brake caliper.
hope this is helping you some ways...lol

on sti's however many japanese tuners go lower offset in the front and higher offset in the rear or wider wheel in the front. but with same size tire. im guess this creates more oversteering and to eliminate the understeering known to sti's...

reducing understeer and creating oversteer are not thesame thing.

either way, unless you're going to be doing extensive tests of roll out between two given tires it isn't worth it to run wider rear.

as jkonquer said there are ways to simulate a wider rear wheel.

<i'm all better now btw>

that thread was very informative.

Thats why there is a search.

Searching the term "staggered" yielded many results in the tire and wheel forum.

Just trying to help out. You see, i actually don't have that money posted compared to other members, because a search can answer so many questions.
