I have a set of 245/40/18 for sale really cheap in CA... I only have 100mi on them so I really can say much but they grip on the same level as re070 maybe better?

I went with these for my summer tires this year and we just got a foot of snow. In other words, I have no idea how good they are, but they got good reviews. Should be a couple of weeks before I know for sure.

I had these on my first set of wheels. I honestly wasn't impressed. Traction was about the same level as the RE070's but they were so noisey it was distracting.
I wouldn't purchase them again.

I have heard bad things about them from anyone who has a drivers car. Go with the Falken RT-615's.

So you have a set of Falken RT-615s?

What kind of mileage are you getting out of a set? I looked them up and they seem pretty mean, and they meet the SCCA "Street tire" classification How do they do in the rain ect.?

THe falkens will last you about 1/4 the mileage the g-force will, but they're obviously a much higher performance tire.

I have the kdw2s and they're pretty good. They are noisy, but no worse than the 070s.

My RT's will be installed this morning. 245/40/18, and I know that is .7" taller than stock, but the stockers are too small per the speedo being off ~10%. .7" make <2mph difference @ 60mph.

How is the sidewall stiffness?

I have heard better things about the Eagle F1 GSD3 for a tire that is good in the rain. The downside of it is that the sidewalls are like marshmallows.

Ill let you know how they are in the rain within the next couple weeks, cuz I guarantee that it will rain here sooner than later.

rt's are not good in the rain. i doubt however that they're any worse than the stock re070's. ive driven on both in the rain and they're pretty much the same. no directional tread and not really much tread to begin with. great in dry tho

I think I am going to give the RT-615s a try, if I burn them down too fast I can get another set since they are only half the cost of the KDs anyways

I got them mounted and balanced this morning but not installed (still on my winter tires and stock BBS's) because there was talk of snow tonight. I got home and the temps were about 45* and the weather called for a low of 37 so I went ahead and installed them. I put about 65 miles on them and we did get some rain, very little but enough to get the ground wet. Grip was very acceptable IMHO. Better than MANY all seasons I have driven on. The car does seem to have more of a tendency to plow with these as compared to the stockers and my winter 225/45/17 Nokian RSi's. But not so bad that I cant get rotation out of it. I cant wait to rip up the mountain passes this summer...
