You will ned up hitting someone or something and it will cost you alot more than the $500 for some good tires.

are you special ed, my all season mud and snow rated Toyo Proxes 4's barely cut it and are pretty pathetic in the snow, I can only imagine how horrible potenzas are in the snow, ask yourself is it really worth it (so much is riding on your tires).

Good driving habits are always the best strategy. I used to drive a corvette with 13 inch wide 315/35R17 summer tires all year round because I was spending all my money on buying the car. It can be done.

^^^ I'd heed the advice of every single other STi driver on here with tons more experience as well as vehicular and tire knowledge than you. Snow tires are an investment in safety and versatility. No measure of skill or experience will help you when your tires simply do not grip the road under any slippery circumstances. You may not know better, but take the advice of everyone else on here: get some snows before you lose your car.

It's not just snow and ice, its the temp at which the stockers turn into rocks...

I agree with everyone else here, however, its your car just realize you are running a much higher risk of driving around in snow like that than you realize, even with your "experience."

Yeah.. you may know how to drive in the snow but, when it comes to trying to avoid somone skidding out of control in your direction and you can't avoid them because your RE070's don't bite in the snow?? Atleast a A/S could help you to avoid situations like that.

It snowed here ligthly here a couple times and had to drive on the RE070's. Man..people were right. It's like a death trap. Well it snowed again and I went out and bought some all season! Such a night and day difference!

He's never had snows on it so he has no clue how much better and safer driving is with them. It's pointless trying to convince someone on this point - they have to figure it out for themselves.
