I believe the ICebears are T-rated, which means when you hit 102, you're on your own. They're SNOW tires. Don't flog them like they're RE070s.

i had a set of ice bears for last winter and some of this one i loved them but i just put on a new set of rota torques and i kinda needed some new rubber. so i shelled out $550 mount and balenced for some new yokohoma ice terain tires i did not go with the bears because these have a little wider tred pattern and the new torqus are a little wider than the stockers. the side wall is stiffer than the bears by a little bit but the rubber is just as soft

NEW DATA:

Just drove 820+ miles on them. Mostly dry pavement but there were some wet roads. They handled very well, were pretty quiet and performed predictably. They do not have a problem "tramlining" like the RE070s (which isn't surprising).

Seen very little snow, so I'm going to wait to go further into that aspect, but in every other aspect, they're excellent.

man im sorry to say but those 300's are HORRIBLE in the snow.... if anything, if someone is just comparing them to their summers.. fine....
they were so bad, that i *****ed at discount tire until they allowed me to come in and swap for a set of iPikes (w404 last year)...
i like to have some pull, confidence and fun in the snow... not just get by.
the iPikes are whole world of difference.. lower speed rating, MUCH softer sidewall.. you definitely need to play it mellow or just flog and drift on the dry... but its all worth it.
i had over 1k miles on the 300s... ha, thanks discount. all they charged me was the swap over. i will have the iPikes in deep and packed snow tomorrow morn.. (big storm supposed to give us 14-24" in the mountains overnight)..
i'll let you know how it goes.

Cool

alright so i had the iPikes in the snow today.... what a HUGE difference from the w300's......
if you plan on being in the snow quite a bit... or when you, you want to be able to have some pull and some fun..
i highly recommend them.. like i said earlier, very soft sidewall, limited to 118mph... but very worth it...........
very confident setup.

that is all......

I disagree. I find the icebears to have plenty of grip whenever i need it from slush, to deep snow, to packed , to glare ice. They will grip anything!

I just put these on as well and have about 500 miles on them. They are OK. As with tires you get what you pay for and I didn't pay much for these. I haven't driven in snow but these Ice Bears SUCK on ice. I'll probably sell these at the end of the season and get some LM-22's or LM-25's for next year.

I must agree with you. I have the w300's on right now and they are not impressive at all. They are great for the price and they will get you where you need to go but you will not feel confident on snow. I ran them last year in Park City so I new what I was getting into, but the price was to good to pass up. These do the job for me though since my car rarely sees deep snow.
