| STI Driver | I am getting ready to purchase the blizzak LM-25's that I will be putting on my stock wheels for the winter and am wondering if it really matters which speed rating I get for them? I would save myself around 40 bucks if I get the H rated and I dont see myself going over 130 in the winter. Is there any reason why I should by the slightly more expensive V rated tires? | Halliburton Mercenary | I'd get the V rated... Wait- I did. Not all of the winder is snow and ice. There are those beautiful cold, dry days that our cars love. Why get a tire that can't go near as fast as our car? I'd spend the money on safety. |

| dances with roads | The speed ratings are for sustained periods of time at the rated speed. If you see yourself spending sustained periods of time above 130MPH then get the V rated tires. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (11) | I have Z rated all seasons for winter, and it snowed like twice here in the midwest last year. I'd like to have the piece of mind that my tires won't crap out on an unusually warm late-winter/early-spring day at high(er) speeds |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2005 Trader Rating: (8) | H will probably grip better on packed snow and ice. That's my guess as I think they'd be a little softer. I have the V rated and I haven't had any issues. The way I see it is better to have winter tires than not to in the first place. I like the fairly stiff sidewall of the LM-25's. Rides like a performance tire. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
