a 38 offset wheel doesnt clear Brembos? Damn... is it the inner hoop?

nope, same reason the 17x9 +35mm doesn't clear.

they have a "dish" of some sort so it basically negates all clearance a "normal face'd" RPF-1 would have at that offset.
