Great to see the responses. I guess I can look at about 7k more miles to go.

I am looking at some new lighter weight performance tires. Anyone running with the Carbon Fiber reinforced tires yet?

With a 140 UTQG rating, I thought these would wear out well under 20k miles under standard use. I guess its really true about what they say about how the UTQG scale differs between different manufacturers.

i am kinda mad about my tires. i have 9700 miles on my 06 sti and last oil change i had to replace a tire with a nail in it and today i take it in for another oil change, and the same tire has not one, but two nails in it...that means i have had to buy 2 new tires at 320 installed from subaru!! this f-ing car is expensive but its worth it.
what other type of tires would you reccomend?

Geez how do you guys get that many miles?? I'm around 15K and mine are done dealing. Whats frustruating is I have the stock suspension with the camber maxed out and still tearing up the outers the insides are like new! Colorado mountain roads FTL...

39K and about 2mm left till wear markers. I have used winter tires for about 12 months total during the last 3 years.

I just got ~1500 miles out of a set of Hankook RS2's before they hit the wear bars. That's with about 25 autocross runs, 18 on tire shredding concrete.

I'm trying to decide if I want to go back to RT615's or give the 070's another shot.

I thought I was rough on mine, but I got between 12,000 - 15,000 miles out of them (lost track of when I put the snowtires on). Better than many of you.

Wear markers are in between the tread. There a few different depth markers, and some are thicker than the others. They look like a little bump. Tire rack can tell you how to read them. I am not going to go into it because i do not have the time, but it is pretty straight forward.
