for winter wheels I'd personally prefer a wheel that wont break at all 6 spokes. There are a few rotas that appear to be beefier than the Boosts, is what I should've said. Quote:
do you search for my posts just to point out the obvious that I don't like replicas? ![]() no hard feelings, I appreciate disagreement, without it there wouldn't be any point in talking/posting. -t3h_ -

not sure about that theory, those Volks that bent weren't the monoblock ones they were 2 piece GT-Cs so the hoop bent not the spokes. I've personally never done any strength test between the two, but you dont hear about advans completely falling apart and they are cast. and those BBS's look powdercoated, and we all know that that is a sensitive process that if done incorrectly can damage a wheels strength. I've hit some serious bumps/pot holes with my BBS's and I they are round as round can be

A cast wheel is usually always cheaper and easier to manufacture than a forged wheel and the process makes them heavier and softer, which makes them more prone to bending. A forged wheel has higher limits than a cast wheel and where a cast rim may bend at it's limit, a forged wheel shatters. I'm sure there is plenty of info on the web on this, I just don't have a link offhand. There's also some good books that'll explain the differences between cast and forged wheels.
