exactly.

spoke design is the reason a +35mm 17x9 RPF1 wont clear while a 17x9 +47mm CE28N will.

it's not like you're spending 500 bucks for wheels, it makes sense to buy ones that fit the first time.

and 18x8 +35mm is too low an offset IMHO.

yeah thats what i meant, specially made for c-one by weds

yeah you can paint them, but i hate adding things thats different from the manufacturer. its like people painting their stocks and polishing the 1/4" edge.

its really ashame they dont make the rpf1's in a higher offset. they are gorgeous wheels and really light.

i currently have the weds sa-90 17x8 +48mm which came with a 3mm spacer from tirerack. The spacers gave my car a very agressive stance... more close out to the fenders. I tried it without the 3mm spacer and it still cleared brembos without it. Tirerack told me that it will not clear brembos without the 3mm spacer, but it sure did infront of my eyes with room to spare. So the 18x8 will fit my car without any prob?

18x8 SA90? This all has to do w/ the spoke style. The SA70 offset is +42 in 17x8, the offset is +50 (i think) for th 18x8. I'm not sure if they have fitments for 18" on the SA90 http://www.weds.co.jp/products/match...RT_SA70.90.pdf They only list 17" on that page.

you're comparing two totally different wheels.

look at the spoke design of the SA90s compared to the TC005s.

just b/c wheel A.) fits with offset x doesn't mean wheel b.) will fit with an offset lower than x.

plus a +45mm offset isn't terrible (+48mm -3mm spacer) for the street.

a +42mm with a +3mm spacer would way too low for the street.

^^^^ quoted for the truth!

people still do not comprehend the differences between spoke face/thickness.

you can have 2 wheels of the same specs, but with different spoke faces they wont fit.

i.e.
the first set of rota D-2's couldnt clear brembos due to not having a slight curvature to the spokes like the SSR professors that they knocked off. at least ssr did their homework when they knocked off WORK wheels.

my 0.03 cents

If your looking for an exact fitment, you may check out P521 by ssIXproject. It is a wheel specifically designed to clear the Brembos and is also hub-centric to eliminate high speed shakes etc. It is made in Galaxy Black and Rally Gold for your fitment 18 x 8.5 +40. Below is a pic on our '06 in Rally Gold.

I understand your desire to push your product, but +40mm is still pretty low offset for a street driven 8.5" wheel.

do you disagree?

ahhaah, you knew that was coming!
come on

spoke design are practically the same minus the fact that you can get 4 disc faces with work. custom offsets etc etc.

I'm interested to see what the response is, especially when Rays suggest 18x8.5 +52 for our cars. I'd think that 40+ is really low for a "exact fitment". They do look nice, but the offset is what kept me from looking into them more.
