Did you get a chance to weigh them before you mounted tires? Did you get a chance to drive in the rain w/ the tires yet, I've been considering those too.
Looking good, very nice.

RE-01R's grip very well in the rain. Worlds better than the RE070's.

Any chance you could compare them to the Eagle F1 GSD3?

i didnt weight the wheels alone, but from how they felt out of the box they feel slightly heavier than the stock 17x7.5 on my o4. the extra weight can be from the extra 1" gained in width and also from being a cast wheel vs forged.

WORK casts their wheels in a form with 1 atmosphere ( so a low pressure forge for lack of words) which helps keep the shapes better/sharper & cleaner edges as well as creating a more dense cast keeping bubbles to a minimum (rotas/alt wheels etc)

as for the weight of the tires, they are 27 pounds

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...irePageLocQty=

i chose the re01r's because of its reputation of being the tire of choice when JDM co's like options and hyper rev uses them on their tests comparisions (i.e. evo vs impreza) based on their consistancy and incredible grip. as i havent broken the re01rs complety yet, so far they are proving every bit as good as the re070's and im sure they will only get better once they get broken in.

the re070's is an amazing tire, i would doubt that subaru would have bridgestone design a tire exclusively just for the impreza's if it wasnt good.

I have no 1st hand exerience with the Eagle F1's. From what I have read they are very good in the wet though, so I would think a little better than the RE-01R's in the wet.

That manufacturing process is a Low Pressure Casting. This is what a lot of the import companies are using to get stronger wheels (for the properties you mention above). Weds, Work, etc all use low pressure casting (I think advan/yoko might as well). The pressure cast will give you a much more uniform finished product. The pressure helps in filling some of the remote areas of the casting where a normal gravity cast would have issues.

One thing I noticed was that Work wheels are generally heavier (but supposed to be strong), where the Weds are generally lighter. I haven't heard much about the durability of the Weds wheels, I'd be interested to see how they hold up in extreme conditions.

I'll have to look into those tires. Looks like a good alternative for me. Thanks for the info.

Why?

I can understand that you wouldn't want to pull. But there really isn't any negative side effects to simply rolling the metal lip up a bit.

exactly.
i was convinced of WORK wheels manufacturing and quality after being shown a section through a set of WORK wheels and other well known JDM brand wheels. it was shocking how much more dense the work wheels were in comparison to the others.

advans are hollow core formed even through the spokes thats why when you see the back side of their wheel you see these rubber caps to prevent dirt and debris from falling into the spokes. this technology makes the wheel incredibly light but creates a weak point based on the hollow vs solid spokes. (i'll try to post a link hollow form later)

i chose strength over weight since this wheel see's both street and track time i wanted something that can withstand potholes etc.

thats the main reason why i am still reluctant to get my fenders rolled. subaru paint is thin as it is, i really dont want to have paint falling apart. the second thing is bending of the fender. the reason why their is a lip on the fender is for strength, once you roll the fender it is more prone to bending or creasing. like i mentioned earlier, the rubbing can be taken care of through height adjustment and added camber. i'm planning to raise the car ~ 0.25" to hopefully clear the rubbing issue.

those are work lugs and yeah you are not the first to mention that. i like the red, it accents the brembo lettering on the caliper along with the cherry blossom red of the decal on the door.
