Call Falken or any other supplier in the world and you will get some idiot from HR or Sales giving you the exact same spiel, where in the end you are left with more questions than before.

I heard about the guy contacting Falken too but the answer the guy gave him was the typicall "I have no clue but all our products perform well" bs answer. They wouldn't say "reinforced" in the specification if they were all the same so I believe that the 245's are reinforced compared to the 255's but this doesn't mean that the 245's are stiffer in loading conditions. They reinforced them for some reason and I would love to know why.

Where did you get them and how much did you pay for them? I got a quote from Discount for $550 mounted with road hazard.

This is the response that I got from Falken and posted in a different thread.

Brian,

The reinforced spec is for load carrying capacity only. It
allows a Tire to carry slightly more weight at elevated air pressures.
The "stiff" sidewall construction is almost identical on our entire
RT-615 line-up. Designed to give excellent lateral handling for street
and track use! No reinforced spec 255/40R17 to be produced in this
pattern.

I have the falken's in the 235 size... didn't up for the 245/255 as I didn't feel it was necessary, but I do need to mention that I have nothing but a good review!

I got them from www.discounttire.com I believe for around $500-600 shipped.

I must be missing something obvious. What about OEM sized 225 45 17's. Are they that much narrower than the RE's.

The arguement is not that 245's are reinforced and 255 are not, what Blaiser was asking is if the RT615's sidewalls are as stiff as the RE070's and they are not, RE070's FTW! I am not saying that RT615's are not good they are awesome for the price expecially, im just saying that RE070's are almost as stiff as god when he wakes up in the morning haha I love that line.

everyone told you not to get a BOV, you still got one

How would you test the stiffness of the sidewall?

I'm sorry, but if everyone told you it was cool to jump of a bridge why wouldn't you believe everyone?

Seriously though, if they are stiffer, great, anyone have actual tests to prove it beyond butt gforce dynos?

I'm not knocking them, because they are great tires, i would like some proof instead of heresay though, as i have not seen actual proof yet in this thread.
