Hey all,

Has anyone noticed how much fun our OEM tires actually are when there is snow and ice on the ground ? I have been blessed with a very large empty parking lot and a lot of snow in recent days and have had tons of fun playing with the DCCD. There is so much difference between 50/50 and 65/35 (and all in between) when you're driving on a slick surface.

If anyone has the opportunity to take their STi out on an open, flat, and icy surface (even if you are driving past a frozen parking lot on you way home from work or errands or whatever) I suggest you get out there and play for at least 10 minutes! Experience the different DCCD settings! It's a great and FUN 8) way to learn how your car behaves when you give it some gas on potentially dangerous road surfaces.

Fortunantely (and unfortunately at the same time) my winter tires (Bridestone Blizzak LM-22's) are arriving tomorrow and are going to be installed shortly there after.

Oh well... It'll just give me another excuse to head to the old abondoned K-Mart parking lot to learn just how far I can push the beast on the new rubber!

Have fun! 8)

Been doing that the last couple of days.

My LM-22s arrive tomorrow as well. . . . as do my Tarmac IIs to mount them on. Oh well, it'll make the boarding trips to the mountains safer and easier. :P

I have done the same thing here in parking lots. It is fun as long as you don't have to commute through snow and ice with the stock rubber.

I have decided to pass on purchasing new wheels and tires for this winter. KC generally has very few snow days per year and I am going to garage it whenever a bunch of snow/ice hits the area. My priorities for funding are now being diverted to porting the wastegate, installing the XEDE and dyno tuning. 2-3 weeks and it should be done {assuming no ice and snow!}.
