| Junior STI Driver | Hello Yes, this is another "which rim should I buy?" but, hey, it is really hard to decide. I have a white 06. I have my choice down between: CE28Ns - gunmetal, black, or the black time attacks SSR Type-C RS SSR Comp Criteria are: Looking for some weight loss like obtaining a better look. I also want to stay 17" and be able to put on a 255 tire but also be able to make use of my stock tires while I still have them... I know nothing about off set or anything like that, could any one reccomend a fitment? I would assume the rim would have to be 9.0"? Any input on which to buy of these to buy or even throw in your own suggestion or pictures of what these rims look like on a white STI would be great also. I liked them when it was less common for people to do it, before it got to be the cool thing. Anyway, I think some gunmetal or anthracite colored wheels would look cool on a white car. |

the CE28Ns unless you get lucky you're not going to find them in stock in either of those colors or size so be prepared to wait ~3-6 months. The SSR Type-C RS is now in stock in a few places but it all depends what size you want. They seem to only have the conventional sizes. Quote:
so you're looking at 17" and 255. when looking at the wheels you've selected, there is not a 9" wide wheel in a high enough offset for street use, they are all lower than ~40mm which is great for autox but too low for street use. an 8.5" wide wheel would do the deed nicely, it wouldn't be using the entire tire, but you would have a greater contact patch than a 245. to run a 8.5" wide wheel and 255s you shouldn't go lower than a +45mm offset. and stay higher than a +50mm especiall if you ever plan to get coilovers. what suspension are you running? are you dead set on 9" wheels? or was that just to use the 255 to it's fullest? do you have a budget? Time frame you want the wheels by? specific tires? afraid of doing some massaging to prevent or stop rubbing? Last edited by T3h_Clap; 06-12-2006 at 04:45 AM. | ||||

| Junior STI Driver | Well, it saw a picture of bronze 17" CE28Ns on my exact car...was not to impressed by the 17"s...or the color for that matter. If I got CE28Ns(or any rim for that matter) I would have to see them on a car in the specific color(photoshopped or anything) in a picture...could anyone help out? Either just dust black or the time attacks or gunmetal. The mag blues are really nice actually, problem is they appear to be 18s, I would want to see 17s because I would like to stick to my stock tires until they are done for and for weight reasons. |
