I was going to go with the SF Challenge myself...but they dont make them for the 04 lug pattern.

Here is what I was planning on going with.

I decided weight is definately the most important thing here...my question though is if I buy rims that are wider, but lighter - are the wider tires with their greater rolling resistance going to negate any positive effects of the lighter weight rims and tires.

As of now(this changes quite often) id being going with the anthracite(whatever the darker blackish color is) 17x9 SSR type c rs w/ 255 azenis 615.

My next question is will I be losing any sort of performance although I am going to a wider tire because of the loss of the re070s stiff sidewall?

The weight on the SSRs is supposedly 16.3, this should be about a 3 pound drop for each rim, then each tire is .5 pounds lighter(I think). 13 less pounds in the drivetrain should make some sort of difference I would think. My other idea though is to go with 17x9 CE28Ns since they should be about 14.X pounds or roughly a 4-5 pnd drop per wheel, my issue is I dont know what they'll look like since everyone usually has 18s.

which offset are you looking to run?

if you want it to stay under the fender you will need a custom offset.

the +41mm is too low. +43mm with 255s is very close to sticking out (depending on rear camber).

and +38mm is def too low for street use as it sticks out at all 4 corners.

the offset offered for the 17x9 is +41mm

A little sticking out isnt going to really bother me, alot though will(subjective to what is a "little" and what is "alot" though).
The back isnt going to have camber until I get coilovers, or at very least springs.

even the slightest amount on the street bothers me to no end.

even if it looks like it's sticking out when it isn't it bothers me.

i'm just really anal. and I personally think the +43mm is the lowest i'd ever go for the street, but i'd prefer a +45mm on a 9" wheel and 255s.
