will the subaru dealer put non oem pads on like green stuff. or do i have to have oem pads. and when should i have them replaced under average wear?

The dealer will put them on for you, but please do yourself a favor and don't use EBC stuff; they are probably the worst pads you can ever use.

If you drive on the street mostly, the pads should last roughly 2 years or more, no need to change them. If you are looking for less dust, there is a reason the EBC claims not to have much dust, they don't brake

so under normal wear mine should last about 20k miles. that's not as bad a s i thought thanks for the info

Obviously it is dependent on usage, but I would very highly doubt that any street usage will make you go through stock pads any sooner than that.

Yes...avoid EBC brakepads!
