Falken is not that easy to get over here, I was going to go with the RE01-R's just hadn't decided on the size yet. I have now

That will depend on a number of factors.

Rim offset...

How low...

Rolled or not rolled rear fender...

I ran 245/45's on the stock rims but was not lowered. Understand the rubbing issues will be in the back most likely. The front fenders are cake...

I'm stock but thinking of jdm pinks which aren't too much lower. I was just concerned about rubbing under load like hard turns or braking.

If you roll your rear fender and get -1 - -1.5 degrees camber...I think it will work.

Not to get too off topic, but I noticed on Th3Clap's blog that 255/40/17 tires are an option for a near stock suspension. Would using the RT-615's in that size fit correctly on the stock 8 inch BBS rim? Just looking to plan ahead for summer replacements. Would be nice to get good looking wide tire and not break the bank.

Will be on 07 wheels, so 9" wide i believe, stock suspension for now, but when i buy tires the car may be lowered on RCE yellows.... any rubbing ya think?

Yeah, 07's are 8" wide. Not even 08 STi have 9" wide rims. You may experence rubbing...the question is are you willing to roll your fenders? If not stick to sizes < 255's on lowered suspensions...even then 245's on lowered suspension may rub without changing camber or rolling.

my mistake guys, i forgot its 7.5" for 04s and 8" for 05+.... i WANT 9" for later

I am willing to roll or trim the fenders, since i would like a more aggressive wheel and suspension combo later...

RCE Yellows and RCE camber plates (lowering or non, i dunno)
8" BBS - 245/40/17.... if they're gonna rub, any idea on how bad? like i said, im willing to do some extra work since i'll have to later

Maybe you didnt see my post earlier...

Ive run 275/40 V710's on 8" wide rubber on stock suspension. I had to roll my rear fender and add a 3mm spacer. Fronts...nothing. Obviously a 255 < 275. Given that factor...I am in an 04 STi which adds even less rear clearance. PM me if you need more info....

Right now I have 245/40 RE01R on my 05 STi with stock bbs wheels and love them. My suspension is stock as far as ride height but will be installing RCE yellows when I get the time...

i'll most likely be opting for the 245/40 re-01r next time around, or the 245/45 615s
