you CAN fit big tires on the 8" rim, but CAN and SHOULD are two different things. A tires that is much wider than the rim will be less stable and more prone to roll.

I'm really curious in what 245/45 or what 255/40 look like since they maintain a close approx. revs/mile so your speedo doesn't go out of whack.

My 245's fit, but will rub in the front when the suspension is maxed out. (Like big chuck-holes and stuff...) I dont know my offset.

As you can see...you can fit really wide tires on even an 04 STi. These are for autox only and I wouldnt roll around on the street long on these puppies. I think a 245 45's or 40's are a good size.

you'd change your mind going to a 10" wheel on those 275s

Hey I would love to run 9.5 or 10" rims, mostly for more contact patch and ***gasp*** a stiffer sidewall; however, some people act like you are going to fly off the road at the sight of their first corner encounter due to the nebulous turn-in latency exhibited by tires that are one size out of optimal for a given rim.

I'm currently up for new tires as well. So what are the size options I have on the standard wheels ? I use it mainly for DD and sometimes the occasional trackday.
225/45 , 235/45 , 245/45 , 245/40 ??
