They should be one of the best tires on the market, but they are super expensive.

For a 17" tire that's pretty steep. The 235/40/18 which is the size I run is $280, making it pretty much the most expensive tire out there.

re-70's are nearly that much.

also it really depends on who you buy from. tire rack is not always the cheapest.

I just saw those today on tire rack coincedentally and was wondering the same thing. Looks like they just came out today, so it will be a while before people start using them and evaluating them. For a set of 4 tires it's only 80 bucks more than RE070s, so it would be worth it if they really are better. Hope the sidewally is stiff, I like that about the stock tires (which I just put back on yesterday). It was such a night and day difference over my winter tires.

I would like to be included in a group buy, especially if I can get the tires shipped to 98295 for a total invoice of $695 or less.

PM me if there's a chance for an urgent group buy. I auto-x on the 9th.

No, not an april fools' joke. Sure, why not $700? How often do you see a price tag of $20.00? Usually you'll see $19.98 or $19.95--it's all about making it seem a lot less than it really is.

Last night, on Tire Rack, the price listed was $205 each. Check out this link to Tire Rack:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....um=245WR7RE01R

Now the tires are listed for $700 for the set. Now lets see free shipping!

Sure it was quick. Now for the real test, was it an April Fool's joke on those who purchased the tires on 3/31 for $20 more per tire, or does being suggestive on iwsti.com/forums ellicit better price bargaining on the internet sales?

Now what I'd really like to see is someone or some team of people wanting to come forward and bring me in on a team to drive my own '04 STi of 77,000 miles on the "One Lap of America" in May. It would be a TRIP! (no pun intended)

It would be a great way to affordably test 10 of the RE-01R's.

With the savings of 25%, it would be worth it to buy the tires under those circumstances, as the savings would exceed the cost of shipping and mounting and balancing.
