I have been running them for about 3 weeks now. They are sticky as hell. The sidewall is softer than the RE070's which I don't like. But it's not a "soft" sidewall though compared to most max performance tires.

the AD07 has a wider tread width on the same size tire and same size wheel.

plus the AD07 edged out in comparison to the new RE01-R

plus the AD07 is more expensive.

Got 4th fastest time auto-x on Mem Day. It seems like they stick well and let go when you need them to. They are awesome for drifting through the turns and responded exactly the way I wanted them to.

I got mine for $165 each at Discount Tire at Lakeway in Bellingham. I purchased the $22/tire insurance, which I'm not really sure if I will ever need the insurance. I've driven 82,000 miles and have not had a flat or blowout, but I'd rather pay $88 total for the opportunity to get 4 tire replacements for free, with no pro-rating of tire wear. Total cost with shipping and tax was $916 for all four.

$165 is for what size tire? I'm planning on getting 245's or 255's

We ran the Re01R's on our 500+ hp GTO in this years One Lap of America.

www.racingforthechildren.org

They helped us get second place in class! Had the master cyllinder and the tranny not have gone out on us we would of had a great chance of winning first in class. In 2005 Enrique and Richard Garcia ran a 500 hp STI and I think they may bring it back for the 07 One Lap. Bridgestone sponsored us so cost was not an issue but I would have to say they are the best all around tires I have ever driven on. They performed excellent on the track in hot weather, during heavy rain and were very comfortable and quiet on the transits between the tracks. They also had excellent wear characteristics. They may have a treadwear rating of 140 but they had the same wear that a 180 or 200 treadwear rated tire would have.

Bottom line. WHen the stock tires on my 06 STI wear out I will be going with the Re01r's!

well by his post re01r > re070. alot of japanese drivers and reviewers use re01r for comparision tests i.e. evo vs sti etc. they also use in stock class time attacks as well.

Been using 245/40/18 RE-01R's since early October last year, and have seen very heavy rain, and lots of sun, and must say that they easily beat the stock STi tires, as well as the Michelin Pilot Sports (not the PS2's mind you, as I haven't had any, but have heard they are actually slightly worse than the originals according to some BMW guys). Highly recommend the RE-01R's.

Got my 1st set of RE01R's 1st week they were available to the public in USA in 225/45/17. They are still on my stock wheels in case I need them for an emergency or something. My 255/40/17 RE01R's just got into town today. Wont be having them mounted for a while (Begining of October). I can't wait.

The RE01R's are the best performance all-around tire out there...period. I'm very impressed with them.

The only tires with better dry performance can't realistically be driven in the rain, and don't last more than 5-10k miles...
