IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | (how's that for a title) Backstory so I go out to the store on thursday for some beers. I come home and parke the car in the garage. sunday rolls aroung and go to wash it. the car feels sluggish backing out of the garage. I drive it up the cul de sac and back and it has engine pep but no handling pep. I pull up to the garage and go out to look at the tires... passenger tire is very low - so low the guage does not register any pressure. I wash the car - pull the wheel and lo and behold there is a nice builders screw in the tire. I call up the bridgestone and they have me come in and look at it. (I asked for an inside patch not a plug.) the tech looked it over and pronounced it safe for a patch. (by less than a centimeter btw) and charged me 20 bucks to patch. While he was patching I discussed new RE070's... 249 installed - each - since they have 15k on them can't replace just one ...VERY uncool cost to replace 4 tires for a single builders screw. I may have to research mounting new tires in the near future I think towards the end of summer - Good thing I have a set of re070's under my steps. The next set will likely not be the 070's as for the price S03's are looking better and better. (or Kuhmo Escta's ) ================================= Cliff notes - I got a screw/nail in the tire - patched it - and was annoyed at the possible $1000 price tag if I had to replace all since AWD hates unequal sizes. ================================= This ad is not endorsed by this member. I am using eagle f1 gsd-3's and I love them so far, but michelin ps2's or bridgestone s03's are also in the same category and worth looking at. or if you want something less expensive, look at falken or kumho. |

better tires are out there, but my set of 4 unused 070 that I picked up for 125 each.... is butter! I will swap these to the BBS at the end of summer/fall and be shopping for the next tire in the spring as I like to know or have exactly what is the next purchase. | ||

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | What are the chances... I got another nail last night - in the driver rear this time. Did a costco run for a quote. 197 for re070 190 for PS2. Gonna have to bite the bullet and mount my set. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
