| Junior STI Driver | Need ones that have the proper seat config... A few track events/auto-X each year, do my own rotations, will have dedicated track/auto-X wheels/tires, so will swap for each event. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2003 Trader Rating: (3) | for track use I stay away from fancy lugs that need a special tool or wheel locks. You will invariably lose the tool/key at the worst possible time at a track 400 miles from home. borrowing a 19mm wrench from someone else is easy, finding a spline drive tool is not. What is wrong with the stock lugs? |

| Authorized Vendor | Also, some wheels do not have the clearance to get a wrench around the stock lugs. Rota's come to mind on this one. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2003 Trader Rating: (3) | stockers are cheap and easy to come by. I just keep plenty of spares on hand to replace them about every six months. I consider them wear items since the wheels are on and off so often. I'll be picking up some open ended ones from a tire shop as soon as ARP finishes making my hardened extended studs. Do you use an impact gun? I've not noticed too much rounding of the corners, but the threads are a bit soft. With the hardened studs, the likelihood will be to strip out a nut rather than the stud (which is why I am upgrading). If you run at the track a lot this is probably a good idea for you as well. As for wheel clearance, I probably wouldn't choose a wheel that needed special lugs just for that reason. Specialness makes tools harder to come by. Commonality can be the difference between being stranded and needing a flatbed and borrowing a tool/lug from someone or a local gas station at 2AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I am using Rays Duralumin Black Long lugnuts with one nut per wheel that is a locking type. These are rather long (for use with long studs) with a closed end design but very light 7075 forged aluminum. I believe you can get them without the fifth nut locking type if you want. I got them from www.evasivemotorsports.com This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
