I don't recommend magnesium rims for regular, everyday street driving. They are brittle and are known to shatter on pot-holes and such! There is always a trade-off for performance. Great for track-use only though!

thankyou for your input, I will certainly look into the "shattering" magnesium rim issue before I put any money down on these rims. If they are that weak, I will not be interested. I would like rims that are also steetable and could be used on a paved hillclimb event. Racing also puts a lot of stress and strain on rims especially if you drift of the track (granted there are not potholes at the track). I would hope that rims of this caliber which are made for hard core racing are not that weak. I don't plan on off-roading them or abusing them on bad roads or over speed bumps. They will also be 17" rims and not 18" so there will be more rubber to protect the rims. I will certainly do further research before buying these rims or endorsing any type of group buy. For now I am just interested in gathering as much info as possible and seeing if there are any other people who might want to get these rims............ sadly, it would appear that so far I am the only one interested and I certainly don't need 6 sets of rims for my sti
