Default rota torque

i'm thinking about getting rota torques, i've seen some where they look concave and thats exactly how i want them to look. does anybody know if its due to the width or the offset?

Mmm, perhaps this question would best be answered in the wheels and tires section?

you will NOT get the concave look until you start getting into the agressive offsets - meaning you'll need to do some fender pulling, and running an aggressive alignment.

The Torque wheels with concave are all Torque models with a 9"+ width. We often refer to this wheel as the Torque R. We have a 17x9 Torque R and a 18x9.5 Torque R.

We offer the 18x9.5 model in a higher +35 offset for 5x100 however all of our 5x114.3 models are a lower +20 offset which I would not recommend for the 05+ STi.

We also have a 17x9 model available which comes in 5x114.3 +30. This wheel does clear Brembo's and does not require spacers. This is still a very aggressive fit and will require some fender modifications and negative camber if you want to run a properly sized tire.

Here are some shots of the 17x9 model in Full Royal Sports Bronze, again no spacers required and they do clear Brembo's

If you have any other questions let me know!

Also if you were only looking for a 18" wheel with concave I would look at the new Rota G-Force which is available in 5x114.3 +30 and for 04 sti guys 5x100 +35.

In 5x114.3 this wheel is available in Gold, Flat Black Red Lip, and Gun Metallic

Gold

Flat Black Red Lip

Gun Metallic

the 18x9.5 +35mm 5x100 does not clear brembos though correct?

I see you mention it as being available yet no mention of brembo clearance.

thanks for all the answers subydude. Does the concave look only apply to 9"+ width on the g forces also?

Correct, the 18x9.5 5x100 +35 requires a 5mm spacer in front to clear STi Brembo calipers.

No problem! The G-Force wheel is available in 17" and 18" for the STi. The sizes are 17x8, 18x8.5, and 18x9. The 17x8 +48 does not have concave, the 18x8.5 +48 has little concave, and the 18x9 +30-+35 has a lot of concave

Here's how the 18x8.5 G-Force looks on a customers car

in order to run the 18by 9 ,do u need to roll the fenders with properly sized tires? can u cut the fender liner or the fender itself? what was modified to the customers car above to fit such a wide rim and tire in the fender?

The 18x9 Gold G-Force's on the white STi had really small 225/40/18 Falken FK452's. He wanted to have his car extremely low and so to do this he had to run a narrow tire and a good amount of negative camber in the rear. His car is a 04 STi and he completely rolled the front/rear fenders.

If you don't want to do a lot of fender modification or negative camber I would go with a 235/40/18 tire for the 05+ STi. If you are okay with pulling your rear fenders a bit (relatively easy to do and allows for a much wider tire) then I would go with a 255/35/18 tire as this will fit the 9" wide wheel very well and match your stock rolling diameter.

Here's an image a customer of ours took, he is running 245/40/18 tires.
