Default Anyone know how much the OEM nuts weight?

Does anyone know the weight of the OEM lug nuts, and how much we can save by getting some reliable but light weight nuts?

Thanks
EL

Don't have fat friends ride with you if you're worried about weight.

5 stock nuts: 127 grams
5 ebay nuts: 91 grams

x 4 equals a whopping total savings of 0.3 pounds

I don't understand the point of this? If you take a piss before you get in your car you'll save more weight than worrying about this.

Eat more fiber then take a healthy dump before you go for a ride. Then we might be getting into pounds.

Some people in the wheel industry have told me that 1 lb of rotating mass is worth about 9 lbs of sprung weight. I'm not sure how true this is but if it is then .3 lbs of rotating mass per corner is good for about 10 lbs of weight. Thats not much for a 3400lb car at the end of the day. But black lug nuts do look better, so thats gotta be worth something.

That's 0.3 lbs for all 4 corners, not per corner

I have Rays lugs. They look good, are pretty darn light, but not durable at all.

After a few ons and offs, they show signs of wear. They're aluminum, so they can't be as strong as the oem lugs.
