not sure how much of a visual difference it will make, however 3mm is the most you should go with stock studs.

They will put each wheel out 3mm...

I wouldnt use 3mm spacers for street use though. If you do I would certanly check your wheel lug tq from time to time.

Spacers are really for gaining needed clearance. If you're not rubbing on the strut side or trying to clear brakes, you don't need them. EDIT: I guess what I'm saying is, if you don't need them, I wouldn't run them.

If you MUST run them, anything more than 3mm will most likely require extended studs. To find out if you're going to rub once you put the spacer on, measure inner fender-to-tire distance. I've ordered some 3mm universals to test. If they give me the clearance I need, I'm likely going to order some custom hubcentric ones.

And no, I doubt you'll be able to see 3mm of difference.

I would agree. I have a lot of experence with spacers but only because I use them to gain clearance for track days...I certanly dont use them to get any sort of look. You would be better off getting the right offset rims if you are trying for a certain look.

Also...you can use 5mm spacers but you are pushing your luck. I used them when I had stock lugs and I was somewhat paranoid about it.

I'm hoping that a set of hubcentric (to the car and the wheel) 3mm spacers will solve my ever-so-slight rubbing issue and allow me to avoid the extended stud nightmare.

Do spacers come that small hubcentric? You know the extended studs are not that bad to install. The front is cake, the rear is a PITA but do-able. I could probably do each side tire on to tire off in 1-2hours.

They'll be custom made.
