Default What tires to buy?

Its about time to get some new tires. I am thinking of either getting Eagle F1's or adrenalin potenza RE01. I am wondering which is the best choice for me. I am wanting the tires for mainly street use but also mild track. or any other tires you recommend.

The tires are for the stock 17" mags

Please anyone have a recommendation?

I am in the same boat as you are right now, looking for some new tires for my stock wheels. I am looking for something that will be good in the occasional rain storm as I drive my car everyday. I have the stock RE070's and do not want to lose the sidewall stiffness, turn-in effect, along with the great dry weather performance. The General Exclaim UHP ($80) is rated well as a Ultra High Performance summer tire on tirerack.com but it looks a little beefy and may lack the steering response I am looking for. The Yokohama S.drive is rated number one in the survey results and looks like a decent tire at a good price ($117).

So many choices, I would like to get the Potenza RE-01R but not sure if I can afford them right now, but it may be worth the splurge, although I'm not sure if it's the best for an everyday tire.

You have a lot of choices. If you do not want to lose sidewall stiffness, you have narrowed the field back to RE070s. They're insanely stiff and pretty much no street tire comes close.

You might also consider Falken Azenis RT615s, which I have now. Great performance tire on a budget. I am about to replace them with RE01-Rs, which will supposedly last longer with some abuse.

You should do a search. Tires questions like this have been asked and answered hundreds of times.

I just went from RE070s (the only tire I've ever run on the car) to RE01Rs and I'm not disappointed. Yes, I lost a little bit of that turn in crisp-ness the 070s are famous for but I gained more dry traction at the limit.

A recent trip to the Tail of the Dragon proved, to me, the RE01R is, overall, a better tyre than the 070.

Great Tire. I just recently autocrossed on mine and they were excellent.

I'm running 245/40/17's on my stock goldies. Love the grip.

The Z1 Star Specs? Not well. NO SUMMER TIRE should be run in the snow. Bad idea. Much hurting will likely ensue. Get a good set of dedicated winter tires if your car sees snow.
