Default HELP! Confused about shaving tires...

Alright, once again I get a nail in the corner of my tire.. So after some reading people recommend replacing all 4 which is $$$ since i just bought my 615's last summer... Another option is to buy 2 or buy just one and shave... to be honest I am leaning towards just buying 2. Is this a wise choice and if it is ok do I need to shave them as well? Im a noob with this crap...

any help is greatly appreciated... my day really sucked today btw.

It is possible to have some of the tire tread 'shaved' from a tire. Some people do it to take the squirminess out of street tires and get better track or autocross performance. Another reason to do it would be to match tire circumferences between a new and used tire (or set of tires). AWD cars, especially AWD cars with LSD's -- like the STi -- need to have tires of very nearly the same circumference in order to avoid damaging the diffs.

I'll hazard a guess that it would pay you to look into shaving one tire if your 3 good tires have half their tread life left or more.

CJ's in Birdsboro shaves tires! Cool. That's pretty close to me. Good luck, let us know how it plays out.
