I'm confused. Is a full size spare actually full size? I mean is it full diameter and full width? Or is it just full diameter? I thought the STi spare was full size. Am I wrong?

Edit: just noticed both choices in the poll are "yes" lol.

I rarely take my car out of town. I have another DD car. Also if I do take it OOT I put the spare back in FWIW.

When I say full-sized spare, it's simply an extra rim of the same size and tire, so all you have to do is put it on and go. You don't have to drive gingerly for as few miles as possible, you use the spare, then when you get home, you replace/repair the damaged one and stick it in the trunk as your new spare.

I would rather have the lighter spare. I don't consider it a donut spare if it is the same diameter.

uh, you have to subtract the weight of the donut spare though...which isn't it steel? I'm about 27 lbs lighter than I was a year ago so me + car + full sized spare < me a year ago + car + donut spare

was a rocket scientist. was let go, now have new job...to pay for my full-sized spare. I've lost the spare tire around my midsection so now I can have a heavier car, I guess.

Here's the point: you're not going to get it unless you do it yourself. Car companies are not going to spend the money and add the weight for a full sized. It obviously means that much to you so why don't you just buy a spare wheel and tire and find a place for it, according to thump a full sized BBS will fit in there. If its not working for you, make it work!

I disagree. If enough people want it, car companies will change. I already did by a spare rim and tire, but it should've been there in the first place...or at least an option.
