Default Replacement Tires 06 STI

Hello All,
I am thinking of getting the Nitto INVO 225/45ZR-17 91W BLK to replace my stock Bridgestone 070s with 27K miles. Any thoughts or anyone know a good local place? Online the price is $115/ea. I would like to keep similar performance / handling. From what I have read the INVO would be similar to the 070s. However if it were a bit less harsh that would be ok since it is my DD. If going to the track I would use other wheels and "R" tires.

Many many many people have asked about good replacement tires. I'm not a fan of Nitto, as I've vicariously had bad experiences with them through friends. If you want budget performance tires, Falken Azenis RT615s are popular. I like mine quite a lot.

Almost any tire will be less harsh than RE070s, because almost any tire will have a softer sidewall, some more than others. Do a little searching. You'll find what's popular and why.

look at BS RE01R - heard nothing but great things about them on both the street and track.

From reading here and others it seems the Nitto INVO is on the softer side due to the sidewall. I have had Falken Anzenis Sports in the past on my 2K A4 1.8T Quattro and enjoyed them. It seems the next generation of that is the Azenis RT-615

For what its worth, there are a number of good options, although some of them don't offer certain sizes. If you're going to put these on stock wheels, I'd say get a 235/45 or a 245/45 (stock suspension). Any wider and you'll have a significant bubble from the sidewall. 235/45-17 is the JDM stock tire size.
