Default spacers

ive done a bit of searching on here and nasioc about wheel spacers. I found some sweet ssr gt2's 18x8 but theyre +51 offset

would i be okay running these with a 3mm spacer to get them to +48 offset so they would clear the brakes and allow me to run 245's or 255's?

You could certanly run 3mm spacers. I would try for the right wheel offset before I started monkeying around with spacers. I only use them for track use...I wouldnt want to run spacers on the street.

you can run 3-5mm fine. the main thing is to be sure you have proper thread engagement and the spacers are hubcentric. 5mm is on the edge IMO and depends on your wheel lug seats and lug nuts.
