Default Re: What does it mean to "Pull the Fenders" ?

nice job hypa..

i had my fender pulled with the fender flare on. it lasted good days untill it sat in the rain and weakend the double sided tape. and basicly created a gap.

so i ended up redoin it my self. and def i have few tricks if i ever do this again. your methos are nice also. but theres a way to make the fender flare even easier to fit. i wish i knew about this trick i found, b4 i had my fender pulled. i did so many trail and error.. haha but so far so good, my fender is better than ever ( just few scratch ) ill make sure to take pics tomorow and post them up aswell.

9 inches wide wheels with +30 offset with S-Tech springs with the max camber i could get was -2.4 235/40/18 tires ( nexen n3000 yes i know its cheap haha, but for some reason the n3000 looks way LESS stretch than 235/40/18 falken RT615 235/40/18 tires on the very same rims.. next time ill take photos.

it isnt any where close to easy task not making it rub. hahaha def learned alot tho.

i tested 18x9.5 +22 w/ 265 35 18 tires on my pulled rear fender w/ 2.4 and my god. no rubbing at all hahaha and my god its FLUSH hahaha.. but for the front ( thats another story ) haha

good **** tho Hypa mad props for taking the chance

PULLED fender if its done right makes the car have that widebody look. i have been asked by many car guys if my rear fenders are widebody or if they are stock ( because they look " wide " ) and few say it looks very OEM, but when compared to stock fender STi def big big difference.

I cut the metal instead which doesn't give the bowed look of the flare and also give more clearance. Either way you're gonna have to fasten the flare on with some kind of epoxy.

Alright guys come off the secrets. I am really going to have to do this, 17x10's are on, but I know its gonna rub even with 12k front and 10k rear springs.

Damn, those are some serious spring rates!

I think that with enough height, you won't have the suspension travel to worry about rubbing. If so, you can utilize a pull, and some camber to make it all fit.

Btw, I use "pull" as a term to represent modification of the rear fenders. Those modifications also include some cutting of the rear fender area.

But for a set of 17x10, it would be worth the extra effort.

Nice work.

The great thing about the pull is that you don't have to worry about running a ton of negative camber. That is, until you get into 18x9.5 +30 territory...

so sexy.

That's the route I ended up taking, although I cut off a lot less metal than you did. Good job on the flare cut too.
