you could run the 18x9 +50mm and a 245/40/18 without issue on a stock 08 as well.

the 18x8.5 +52mm is basically stock size but significantly lighter.

the 18x9.5 +47mm and 18x9 +50mm are available in the CE28N and they are listed as clearing brembos.

the 18x9.5 +40mm would be a "more aggressive" setup but would still work nicely with some fender work in the rear and some camber in the front.

I already did bite it on a set of RZs... should be here 2nd week of July... I probably would of gone with a set of Volks but they are a bit more expensive than Advans, I am actually gonna pm you for some advice to make them fit, KIR_Diesel got the same size and offset coming as well so I assume he already has any ideas on what to get to get them to fit properly.

Kir will have fun getting them to fit if he decides to stay on those horridly low cobb springs.

i have not yet. I'm trying to decide between the RE30 18x9.5 47 offset and Enkei RC-T4 18x9.5 45 offset for my 08 STi. Do you know anything about the Enkei's? I know there are a couple of places to get them from in the US, most all with a wait, though not as long a wait as for the Volks.
From what I have read the RC-T4 in the 9.5 width is about 18lbs, and at around $400 ea. much less that the RE30.
What do you think? Either way, I'd like to run a 275/35-18 tire.
