Default installing wheel studs

replaced wheel studs today ,had some friends look at car. they came up with a easy way to install the studs. take a extra lug nut i used a extra gorilla one. drill a hole in the end take a hardend bolt install it in threw the cap. then screw it on to a slide hammer, pull youre stud threw screw the lug tool on the stud whack it a few times works great. hope this helps jv

why not just use one of these...its cheaper than having to buy a slide hammer.

put in the wheel stud...use the lug nut to draw in the stud...it has a bearing within the tool...

i tried to do that with washers and the lug it seems to deform the threads . useing the slide hammer the lug is threaded all the way on it has more surface area seemed to protect the whole lug . just my .2 cents

I've always pulled them through with some washers and a lug nut and never had any problems.

I always stack open ended lug nuts, and ditch the idea of using a washer. Also throw the stud in the deep freezer a couple of hours before using. it will go in like butter.

also depends on the quality of the wheel stud.

lower quality studs will deform.

The stock studs should be fine unless you are going to use spacers (though with a +37 offset, why would you?). Usually people install longer studs so they can space out the tires and increase track width.

Yep...I just stacked 6 hardened washers and pulled it through. I like the freezer idea too...

Most people run ARP wheel studs. That said I stripped one of them out pulling it through...

If I just want 10mm spacers, what extended studs you recommend? Also, will I able to use my existing lug nuts?
