+1 for the Falken Azenis RT615. As close to the RE070's and for about $100 per tire, you cannot lose...I love my set.

Bought mine from Vulcantire as well...

The 01Rs are superior to the 615's in every way, shape, or form

Actually, my biggest knock against the 615s as DD's is that I thought they were horrible in the rain. If money is not a problem, go with the 01R's and enjoy the performance and ride characteristics.

yeah, superior hit to your wallet too.

FOR THE MONEY, it doesnt get better than azenis. If you can afford it, go for the re01r.

I could afford it, but I still get azenis, as tires are disposable, and I have r-comps for racing.

And I have never had problems with azenis in the rain. I run 255/40/17s.

Another thing to look at, besides initial cost, is the wear rate of the 615's. I got 7k miles out of them using them as daily drivers and running 4 autoX's. On the 01R's, I have 4 AutoX's, 10k miles, and expect to run a couple of more events and adding a few more thousand miles to them. Factoring this in, you get a better tire for less money since the 01R's last a lot longer.

I have run azenis for my last 2 sets of tires, and got nearl 20k miles out of them both times, and I auto-x and drag heavily.

don't forget to take into account how often you will be replacing tires when you go with the rt615 or re01r. factor that into your budget as well.

any of you bother to get to that part in bold? rt615's are not exactly what i would consider a good "rain tire" so that tire is out.

To the op I would take a moment a use that tirerack link and search for a tire there.
