Default Look what happens when the GF is out of town for a few days...

I got bored in the shop today and decided to make some center caps for the new wheels. maybe i'm to cheap to spend the 50 bucks each for rays center caps. i think these will look a lot better

Wheels are 18x8.5 Gramlight 57 Maximums in the flat dark grey.

took the logos out of the stock STi wheels and recessed them into some black delrin i had in the shop. even put a groove for a O ring to keep them in place :disco:

Side shot

Front shot

Close up shot

Money shot

sorry i cant get a full shot yet. the car is on jackstands prototyping out a new rear sway bar and a few other bushings.

What do you think?

awesome tom!

i'd buy a set of those center caps if you can make a set that fit 18x8.5 5x100 ssr gt2's.

seriously! the ssr center caps that came with the wheels aren't a snug fit and i'd rather not worry about them falling out while driving around or during autox...plus i prefer flush fitting center caps

one more question, i believe i have a set of front endlinks installed with my rear swaybar. is there anything for me to worry about? if so, i can get my hands on a set of rear endlinks to install.

i'd have to have the wheels here to measure all the right dimensions.

as for the links. good question. i've never tired that. i think the only possibility would be the bar flipping like the OE links. the rear ones we make are a bit longer than stock to keep that from happening.

Wow, those look great! I would love to have those fit my BBS RE's (stock caps do not).

I've had the same wheels with the SSR caps on my car for like 14k miles with some fairly hard driving at times and have never lost one.

Have you had trouble in the past??

So not to thread-jack too much: Great work on the caps, man - they looks sweet!

Tom, if you could make a set for my Enkei's I'd definitely be willing to pay, I can't find a set of Enkei center caps for my RPF-1's for the life of me.

i just picked the wheels up 2 weeks ago, and the center caps have some play to them. i haven't had issues yet but i've been warned of the center caps coming loose. plus, i like the center caps tom made far better...i much prefer flush fitting center caps than the caps which came with the wheels

tom, do you think you could make the sti in gold instead of sti pink?

Doooode.... I want that. It'd look much better than the garbage center caps on the 5Zigen wheels I'm about to put on the car.

Looks like you found a new business idea Tom. Looks real sharp. I wouldn't mind a STi set for my Rota's so I don't have to look at the ghey Rota logo all winter.

This would work with my Enkeis too (RC-T4)...they have huge center bores (75mm)

Make me some Tom!
