| Professional STI Racer | I have finally decided on the wheels i'm going to get. LE28N 18x8.5 Gunmetal or Mercury Silver. According to my research these are the same as CE28N but with a polished lip. My questions is on the tire choice. Please look at the diagram I've drawn below. It looks like what i'm looking for would work and worst case I would have to roll fenders which I don't have a problem with. I'm thinking going with 245x35x18 and offset of 44 or 47. IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I have customers running these wheels. One is using 245/35/18 and the other is using 235/40/18. Both have had to roll the fenders due to rubbing issues. I can get these wheels rather quickly if you get 18x8.5 CE or LE28n's. |

| Professional STI Racer | hey Anthony i'm the dude that ordered the Tein S-Tech's last week man that be awesome if you can get these for me fast as I'm selling my stock wheels and the buyer wants them before the end of the month.yea i want LE28N 18x8.5 w/44 offset w/ 5x114.3 bolt patern (i have 05) in gunmetal or mercury silver.w/245/35/18 tires. i really hope you can get these in good price comparable to wheel options. i've been checking and the main problem is everyone has it in gold or bronze not teh silver or gunmetal ![]() i called Mackin (the volk distributer) and they got them! as you know they don't sell to individuals but only to distributers....can you get from them or have other sources...can you PM me a quote. i think my calculation/drawing are pretty close to the actual situation and you are right the only thing is that i have to roll fender which i don't mind. my big concern was rubbin inside but from my drawing it looks like inside is clear almost matching the stock. thanks in advance. |

| Senior STI Driver | On the 04 models we've used them before with no rubbing at all 18X8.5 +44. I believe it depends on tire choice. We use 245's but some tires are wider than others so it just depends. We are a Volk Distributor and have tried quite a few different compbinations and we like this combo best on 04's but not sure if they have changed the offset on the 05's. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | You're right Dan, it does come down to tire choice. One of my customers ran 235/40/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 and the other a set of 245/35/18 Falken FK-451. Both rubbed, but the 235's less then the 245's. I'm also not sure about the change in lug pattern myself. I think the only offset they have with that lug pattern is +30 and +40 |

| Professional STI Racer | I had my wife which is japanese call Rays in Japan last night. According to the guy there the LE28N only comes in 8.0 inches not 8.5? and a 44 offset. Anthony are you sure your customers have had the LE28N's (with the polished lip) and not the CE28N's? Thanks |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Absolutely positive that it is an 18x8.5 with +44mm offset. That's not the problem though. The problem is that they do not make that offset for the 5x114 lug pattern. |

| Professional STI Racer | Thakns Anthony. That matches what the guy said in Japan last night pretty much. So how about the LE28N 18x8.5 with a +40 offset in Gunmetal or Silver Mercury with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern I think that would work. according to my calculation it would be stickin out +23 mm on the fender side (w/ 245/35/18 tire) ~ and I think rolling would take care of that. The important thing is it would make more clearance than the stock on the inside. One last thing would to know if the +40 offset clears the brembos? I think it would. is this noted in the Volk catalog you got Anthony? |
