IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 Trader Rating: (2) | Im was going to buy the some volks for my 07 sti and i searched and found that the best fitment is 18x8.5 +47 5x114.3 but all they have are offsets of +30, +40, +52. So which would be the best? Will any of these offsets cause a problem? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2003 Trader Rating: (2) | get the +40, +30 if ya really want to go big. read up on here's there's plenty of info on what those offsets will take. +40 will be pretty easy. +30 takes some work/know how. +52 is practically stock...ie lame. what "volks" are you lookin at? |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | the +47mm isn't said to clear brembos so i'd stray away from that size. the +40mm is a good size the tire size for this offset will be dictated by your suspension and alignment settings and your willingness to modify the fenders. so, what's your suspension? what's your camber preferences? and do you want to modify your fenders? |

| Amateur STI Driver | I dont think they make the Le28n any more so yeah you should go for the Ce28n. For me the answers simple +52 Volk makes the high offset for us suby folks because its our stock offset. (I guess its lame to have to not have to work to make your wheels fit) I belive n2oiroc has a +52 offset with 265-35-18's and if thats not good enough for you get a 5 mm spacer and you will have the +47 number you originally came up with and then you can start to fiddle with your fenders while stuffing monster rubber under there. |

the LE28N is still instock in a lot of places here state side even though it is no longer in production. why spend 1500+ on wheels that require a spacer when you can get a size that fits as is? also, if the guy is on coilovers the lower offset may be required to clear the lower spring perches.

| Amateur STI Driver | The line of thought I was following was you can stuff the largest tire possible with a stock suspension on the + 52 without having to modify anything (example 265-35-18 n2oiroc). That same tire would require fender rolling if im not mistaken on the +47. I did not take into account the possibility of the OP having coilovers which would need more inboard clearance good point. I was just thinking that the +52 is more versitile because you can always add a spacer to bring down your offset as your needs change but you cannot remove that added offset if you already start lower. |

I run 265s at a +45mm offset ![]() The issue with "going big" on the stock suspension is if you ever decide to lower the car, the wheel/tire combo won't work (unless you do springs that don't really lower the car, different topic). My suggestion, due to our lack of information, was based on a setup that will work with 90% of suspensions.

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | what size tire do you want to run? a 235/40/18 on the 18x8.5 +40mm would be a nice fit. just add a little bit of rear camber once you get on lowering springs and you'll be good. |
