No. You need to match the rotating diameters to all four wheels. You bought staggered rims, so you need to do some math so you can get the outer diameters to match within spec. Otherwise, you're wrecking your diffs.

Indeed...why are you running staggered rims? That was probably an unwise move. If they are new I would try to return them and get the same sized rims.

Kind of curious as to the application. 265 is a bit of an odd size.

There's nothing inherently wrong with stagger... as long as the final diameters match.

^In some situations, yeah.

The 315/275 split has certainly been proven in autoX, albeit in conditions where an effective operating temperature can be reached.

im going to run 10 in the rear... i actually bought my rims at rb motoring.. im really close to the owner so he gave me a really good price.. he actually told me the same thing what you guys said.. but he said try to match the same diameter for back and front and ill be okay.. i was researching to see if any companies went staggered with a sti.. and found dyno comps 04 sti running 18x8.5 front and rear 18x9.5 .. tires are 225/40zr18 in the front with a +42 offset and rear the rear is 255/35zr18 with a +40 offset .. if i can figure out what tire to get to match the diameter for front and rear ..ill be okay

why do you want more grip in the rear?

generally on a Subaru you want more grip in the front.

what suspension are you running?

tein flex... since its staggered i want wider in rear mainly because of the bigger lip .. i have a 1inch gap between the lip of my rim to my quarter pannel with the10s.. im assuming if put the 10s in the front ill look like a front wheel drive dragger =[..do have any idea what tires i should run though

your center diff is going to hate you if it doesn't already!

tell your good buddy to take the wheels back and get a matching set instead of staggered...
