Default New rims...but it seems to sit higher?

Just picked up the ride after new 17x8 rims on with original stock tires - '07. It may be my imagination b/c it's night and raining but the front seems to sit higher off the tire than before?? Will this compress down after a day or so, if not what the heck happened??

it really doesn't make sense that it would do this on stock tires. IMO it's an optical illusion but maybe one of the wheel/suspension guru's can give you a better answer.

I can now almost fit my entire hand b/w the tire and rim, didn't think I had that much clearance before. What are my lowering options? Springs?

You are imagining things. Nothing should have changed unless they dorked something up.

I was going to ask if you drove if afterwards, but I'm guessing you did since you had somebody else do it.

Yes, the car will look lifted right after the jacking the car up and putting new wheels on, however, that should go away with a short drive. This reason is why I stopped taking pictures of my car right after swapping wheels....

Springs are the cheaper option yes.

holy crap thats some wheel gap. it just stands out more to you with the new wheels. especially considering you kept everything the same size. springs or coilovers. read around in the suspension forum , you'll find plenty of choices/info

Too many choices over there... What's labor to swap springs and assuming an alignment will be necessary? I'm pretty mechanical, but never messed with springs before...Is it easily a day job for all four? Any special tools to buy? Learned a long time ago, the right tool for the right job saves time to drink more beer.

I like the drop the Cobb springs give. But everyone seems crazy over the RCE Yellows around here.

It should only take about 2-3 hours for a spring install. It is really simple. The only thing you might need would be a spring compressor.
