IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Just depends on what you're going to do with them, and the size you need. For an all-around Summer performance tire I like the Mich PS2, but for absolute grip I like the Yoko A048. The new Dunlop Z1 is getting a lot of good press too... |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (23) | 1. Bridgestone RE-01R (Best all around) 2. Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD07 (Best Dry Performance) 3. Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 or Falken Azenis RT615 (the price is right and the performance is up there with the other two) |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (5) | The Dunlop Direzza Z1 is getting awesome reviews - I'd take those over the RE01-R's since they were shows in three separate cases to be faster around a track (can't remember if that was an auto-x course or road course...). |

| S204 Racer | what is your intended use ? for the street, the PS2 is great. and on my mx-5 with upgraded suspension i had RE050A, and i was not able to come anywhere near their limits on the street. a better "track" tire on the street is a waste of money IMHO. J. |

The KDWs and PS2s aren't really in the same class as the other tires listed by other members. They're a good tire on the street and they have good wet handling but they don't offer as much grip and KDWs have a tendency to chunk on the track and autox. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | 1) Advan AD07 - Amazing tire 2) PS2 - a touch better in the wet and almost as good in the dry as the AD07 3) RE01R - Softer sidewall and smaller tread-blocks than the RE070, but similar grip in the 225 and more grip in the bigger sizes. The RT615 is "okay" if you keep it cool. Which normally means the first 60 seconds of hard use, but it's not really in the same class as the above tire. It doesn't even have equal grip with the above initially, and after 60 seconds it has WAY less. It costs half of the above 3 - you get what you pay for. The KDW has CRAZY soft sidewalls. It has pretty sticky rubber and good sized tread blocks, but the soft sidewalls really didn't jive with me on an STi... they kind of change the feel of the car IMO. Siegel |
