I'd have to add that the RE-070's are 4th in that they are cheap, and have CRAZY stiff sidewalls and a nice sized tread. They are also some of the cheaper tires as a set can be had for $150-400, that puts them at the top of the bang for the buck list.

I can't imagine them being that bad. I haven't had them on an STi on track, but I've had them on plenty of other cars on track.... Siegel

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | I don't know why almost no Subaru owners run the PS2's... I guess I should qualify my top 3 with the fact that I'm not "sure" that the PS2's will be great on the STi, but they sure work on other cars... Siegel |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (5) | I had them on my last Sti. I was running close to -3 degrees up front at the track and still had rollover. I swear the tires absolutely suck. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | My vote goes for: 1) Yok AD07 2) RE-01R 3) Toyo R1R or Kumho Ecsta XS (I'll let others try these first) The stock 070 is a nice tire, but it would be nice if it came in a 245-40. I'm also really looking forward to finding out how the new Toyo R1R fares as well as the Kumho Ecsta XS, as both seem to be aimed at the Street Touring class. From the looks of things at the first National Tour, the R1R looks like it is up there with the RE-01R. Last edited by IlliniSTi; 02-25-2008 at 01:19 PM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (2) | Sorry if this is a dumb question - Just looking for some feed back on these tires. If I have the correct size or not .. I honestly don't know - I know nothing about tires. All I know is that I have stock rims with winter tires ( I just bought my 05 STi this last Sat.) Looking at these for summer tires. My only mod to my STi's suspension is Tein S Tech Springs. Falken AZENIS RT-615 235/40R17 |

Yes, you could also get the rt615s in a 245/45/r17 if you wanted to. Get rid of the Tein S-Techs. Last edited by snorky; 03-11-2008 at 01:36 PM.

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 Trader Rating: (2) | Thanks Sorry I don't mean to highjack. Yeah - I've been talking with T3h Clap - and he suggested the same. Will the 245/40/r17's rub? I would rather not do any rolling (I think that's what it is called) to the car at the moment. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (8) | 235's are 100% safe, but a 245/40 might be ok. I'd say stick with the 235's and know you'll be good. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2008 Trader Rating: (4) | Are you guys suggesting the 235's because of the Tein Springs? Cause I got the RCE Blacks and Myles from RCE said I could do a 255 with no rubbing issues on my stock BBS.. |
