IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Yes, I actually did make one of the studs look like a D but that would not allow it to pass through. Not even close really. I dont understand how the people who made it work given the geometry that I had to overcome...unless the ABS hold is different in the 05+'s. This ad is not endorsed by this member. | Spiteful Old Codger | No isht. Poly does not listen to this kind of reason, though. He prefers to go around his elbow to get to his thumb. Assume a subject project that consumes $1K and 2 days. It's cheaper to do that in 99 ten-dollar increments over two decades, don't you know? ![]() |

becasue I have 65K on my STi with more track days than I can remember. When they are blown, I will replace them with upgraded hubs. Most certanly 5x114

![]() Anyway, kudos for thinking "outside the bun" and cutting your way through the back door. I'm sure there's a metaphor in here somewhere that could find its way onto the side of a guy's car in magnetic, if he happened to show up at certain events...

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Ok guys got everything on and took it for a drive...no abs light or any problems. Sensors lined up with the spline just fine and it does not wiggle around or anything. Everything is cool so far . If I run into any problems I will post it up. All said...do this at your own risk. I take no responsibility for you messing up your ride. If anyone has any specific questions about the job...let me know. Now I get to deal with the fronts...which should be much more pleasant. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Follow this guide for the most part. Replace rear wheel stud on WRX/STi - ScoobyMods I ended up taking the parking brake assembly off...buuuut you might be able to do it without taking it apart. It certanly gives you more working room to remove it...and really its not that hard. Next step will require a die grinder with a carbide tip. Dont even think about trying this with a Dremel. It would take forever, it takes long enough with a die grinder as it is. In the picture below you can see the ABS sensor port. You have to get under your car and grind out/hone out the hole so that it is big enough to slide the head of the ARP wheel stud through. I ground out all around the hole till it was big enough. The part that I highlighted red is the area that you have to completly remove, you dont have to do that from under the car. You have to grind it down almost all the way to the dust plate. The cut away portion will look like a cresent moon when you are done. ![]() When you take everything apart it will be clear what you have to do. It is much easier to have a buddy there to help too. Good luck. |

| Junior STI Driver | Ok, this might seem dumb but I am trying to figure the options here. So, option one- you can grind down the abs sensor port into a half moon to get the stud to fit. Option two- you can remove dust plate? Option three- you can knock off the side of the stud flanges? Somebody correct this if it wrong. What is the easiest and safest option here? |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I can say its been a few months and quite a few autox runs and everything is AOK. It takes me about an hour to do each side...well..now that is. So the method I used is quite quick and effective. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
