wouldn't 19" on the 08 a little bit too big?...

and btw, I always think RS looks bigger than it is

17" looks like 18"
and 18" looks like 18.5" somehow, lol

To the OP,
I think +45mm is a safe choice
but if you are into the flushness world, +29 is not a bad choice IMO

and RS is sexy Do it!

19"s fit the 08' much better. The car comes stock with 18''s on the 08' and that is a very conservative size for it.

you can run a lower offset for the o8 since it wider.

Step your game up and run a 19 inch wheel... Dont even mess with a 18 if you have a 08... Hell he might even be able to run a lower offset than 29

^ I think 19's are way to big for a daily driver. I cant imagine hitting a pothole on 19's and low profile tires. Ouch.

I agree, if your car is a daily driver you will hit a pothole... I had 19s on my Lexus IS300 and I put some nasty dings on the 19 inch axis I had on it in just 7 months of driving the car with the wheels on. Advan RSs will look larger than 18s jus because the way the spokes and design of the wheel... I have 18s on my STI and they look like 19s...

also keep in mind that if you run 19s and u bend a wheel... the hassle you will go if you get a flat and bend the wheel... ah... towtruck+ new wheel = real bad day and expensive, Advans are not cheap.

running a 255/40/18 will be .3" taller than factory which maybe with in the limits of the factory spaces, but you're making the gearing taller which isn't really need in the 08s.

you may want to step down to a 255/35/18.

and a +45mm is a very nice offset for the 08 STi.

running lower you run the risk of rubbing, and if you don't want a super aggressive setup there is no point in trying to push the limits.
