+1, I have the potenzas. Also look at the new Goodyear F1 A/S, they are pretty new and don't have many reviews, but most people seem to like them so far.

I've tried Pirelli P-Neros and Kumho ASX... Pirelli > Kumho. Can't speak on others already mentioned.

Conti ExtremeContacts are good. Got me to work after 6-10 inches of snow last night.

I have them on my '05 and my girl has them on her '02.

Excellent tires.

Dunlop Winter Sport M3s are an unbeatable all-season tire. I've had mine now for three years (same set) and they are very well priced. Obviously they wear great and they really do perform awesome in ALL weather including 8-12 inches.

A few random (i.e. useless) thoughts; I tried the new Potenza 960's on a friends A4 and they seem less sure-footed than my Pirelli PZN M+S's. True, different cars, however, the owner of the A4 agrees- he had the same PZeros previous to these, and kind of regrets getting the Bridgestones... (which I recommended to him, based on Tire Rack's comparisons...)
And yes, I realize Tire Rack's tests/comparisons do not agree w/ me...

I had the Continental Extreme Contacts mounted prior to the Pirellis and absolOOtely hated them. They felt like the tread was rock hard, but the sidewall was squishy as hell -pretty much the complete opposite of what I'm looking for in a tire.

ymmv.

I just got a set of Kumho ASX's. Very happy with them. They are 1000x nicer than the Falken 512's that I had on previously.
