Hello all...I am looking to get a STI within the next month. I had a regular WRX 2 years ago before the STI came out and loved the car. Needless to say I want another suby for the winter and the STI is just to amazing to pass up.

Here is my question. I still have my old (ok less then 3k miles on them) OZ Superleggera 17x7 wheels mounted with Pole Position S03 tires. I noticed tire rack only sells the 17x8 OZ Superleggera wheels for the STI. Will my 17x7's work or is there a clearance or offset problem? The tires are the proper size, so I am kind of curious.

Either way I think I am going to try to get the dealer to ditch the stock rubber and put my Pole Positions on it and have them replace the stock tires with dedicated snows as I have read all the horrible stories about the stock potenza's, whereas I know mine are amazing dry and wet.

Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't think 17 x 7 will fit, I haven't seen anyone out there with those sizes.

You didn't state if you where going to get an 04 or an 05. If your getting an 05, the wheels won't fit anyway, since the bolt-pattern is different. What is the offset on the 17x7 wheels? Tirerack probably doesn't have it listed because they are not as wide as the stock wheels. You could always contact them and see if it would fit. I don't think they will clear the brakes though, since there isn't much clearance as is.

I will be getting an 05 I imagine since I have only seen 05 at the dealers I visited so far. I am thinking the wheels are a lost cause hehe I did email Tire Rack as a final effort about them since that is where I purchased them. The tires are the same size as stock STI though so those are at least reusable.
