| STI Driver | I'm debating between the Neovas or the 01Rs for a time attack event that is coming up. I'll be in the street tire class but I just don't know if the Neovas are worth the extra cost. Anyone have any advice? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Iron Fisted | I have not had any experience with the Nevoas, but I have the re01r's and I can tell you that they are amazing. IIRC, mxpop won his class by 5 seconds or something running them. |

(new england region SCCA) I even had some pretty good competition from a few r-compound EVO's. They handle awesome on the track too. I've done 2 track days on them, and countless autocrosses throughout this summer pretty much every weekend, and they still have tons of tread/life left in them! |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2005 Trader Rating: (2) | I haven't been impressed with a Dunlop street tire in a long time.... For 3 laps the 245 wide AD07 will be only a few tenths faster than a 245 wide 01R... after that the 01R will fall off SIGNIFICANTLY more than the AD07. The AD07 is available in a wider tire than the 01R, which will widen the margin significantly. A 255/40/17 AD07 is going to be another few tenths over the 245's. If you can fit the 265/35/18 AD07 and have an adjustable suspension those will be another maybe half a second. The 265/35/18's on the RCE T2's, ONCE DIALED, were an amazing setup.... It really depends on how hard-core you are. If you are the kind of guy who can do one warm up then go "kill" for two laps and be done then the AD07's longer life doesn't matter as much. If you aren't pushing hard enough to grease the tires at all then it also doesn't matter that much. If you want to be able to go REALLY hard for more than a few laps then you want the AD07's... | STI Driver | Well I went ahead and got the Neovas just for the fact that they supposedly take the heat better. I plan on doing the time attack but I also plan to do some more track days throughout the rest of the year. I'm also doing local autox in the STU class which leaves me stuck with 245s. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 Trader Rating: (1) | Check out the new Toyo R1R's. They should be available in the States soon. They are 140 thread rated so, they are in the same class as RE01'r and AD07's. Heard a lot of good things about these tires. They are available in Japan for a while now, but this model is newer then the one currently in Japan right now. Toyo Tires - Proxes Here's the place you can get these tires now: AIM Tire: American International Motorsports I also saw a news that Kumho will be coming out with a new tire that is 140 rated as should be in the same league as RE01r's and the Yoko Advan. I think it's call the Ecsta MX something something. Once I can get hold more of that info, I will pass along. Now, we should have more options on the 140 thread rating for TT and auto-x. We should also benefit with possible lower pricing of the tires as well. Last edited by mug23; 01-17-2008 at 12:27 PM. |
