IWSTI Addict since: May 2003 Trader Rating: (3) | What is the max tire size that can be installed using RCE yellows and stock struts without fender rolling or rubbing. Interested in a 2004 combo. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 Trader Rating: (11) | I'd definitely be interested in knowing this too, Daryll - I'm on Prodrives now (may switch to RCEs in the future) and want to run 255/40-17s on 17"x9" wheels with a +44 offset. I'm pretty prositive that I'll need to roll the fenders, but confirmation would be nice. BTW, if you want to do yours, I plan on renting a fender roller and heat gun in the spring... |

| Amateur STI Driver | ^ i've seen many reviews and done my research, i'm about to purchase prodrive springs. My question is exactly why do you want to change them for rce's. I've read many great things about the prodrive |

Boonie, Since I was multi-tasking (double-posted and wrong section), can you move this to Tire/Wheel? | |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | to fit anything wider than a 235 on an 04 you'll need to roll your fenders when running lowering springs. even with the high offset stock 7.5" wheels you'll be hard pressed to fit a 245 under there without issue. now if you roll your fenders flat you can get a little more aggressive, but you're still limited due to the soft "aggressive" springs. with a flat roll you'll be very close to rubbing with a 255 8.5" +48mm offset wheel/tire combo. if you really want to run a wide tire you need to pony up and get on to coilovers. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | I was running 245s with RCEs and had slight rubbing under slow u-turns and hard cornering at the track, but not enough to feel the need to roll. I'm on 235s now but if I got 245 again I'll most likely roll to be safe |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2003 Trader Rating: (3) | Thanks for the information. Found a large tire thread in Motorsports on NASIOC that I'll need the next month to read. What I was running before the springs. Falken RT-615 P245/45/17 on 7.5" BBS wheels. Had a little rub on the fronts inner fender liner before alignment after spring install. So in haste before alignment I put the stock set of wheels/tires back on car. No rub after alignment. Have not had time to retry the Falken/BBS set, but want to as that was my preferred autocross combo. Jason: found a guy out in Shelby Township with a fender roller that we can use. Just have to schedule it with him (uknohim) - now has a silver Forester in addition to the "wicked white EVO". This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
