Default can i fit a 255/40/18 on my setup?

i have kyb agx struts and tein stech springs. I have a finger of gap in the front right now and half a finger in the back.

I am currently on 235/40/18's toyo t1r

i want to get some bfg kdw's in 255/40/18, maybe 255/35/18?

any advice, i don't know much about this kind of stuff. I also was thinking of running a spacer kit Subaru-Options Auto Salon

not more than like 5mm with some new studs. Get some sway bars and an alignment and call it a day.

thank's for the help. Sorry about my newbness about this subject

What is the offset on your wheels?

here is 265/35/18 on a +43mm and they fit with some fender rolling on tanabe springs.

edit: I see you have an '04 which has less room than an 05.

But I say if your offset is +43 or higher, then a 255 would fit okay with some rolling.

I'd suggest the 255/35/18, but you'd definitely need to roll the rear fenders. What size and offset wheels will they be going on?

Oh, and get rid the craptastic s-techs.

you wont be able to do it on Stechs without a large amount of work.

and a Spacer kit will only make your situation worse.

a 255/40/18 is 1" too tall and will rub on 90% of suspensions.

a 255/35/18 is the correct diameter but it's width causes issues on most suspension setups with offsets lower than +52mm. (on stock fenders).

Roughly how much less do 04's have over 05's in the fenders? 10mm?

i've never measured.

but I'd say 15mm to 20mm

Stock to Stock.

if you roll a 04 you'll have more clearance than a stock MY05

stock MY05 still has a small lip. it isn't flat like you can get the MY04/WRXs.

and sinc the lip is small it doesn't like to be rolled.

to properly get the most clearance on a MY05 you need to radius the rear fender ~.5" to 1" and take the flare and make it as flat as possible (remove the lip on it). Then apply the flare back on to the fender.

this is the best way to get clearance without "pulling/flaring" the fender.

you'd need to roll you fenders a good amount if you don't have coilovers.

any offset lower than stock can cause issues.

if you're rubbing now you'll rub with wider tires too.

you'll need to raise the car to avoid rubbing with the new tires.

sounds like it's not going to work.
