IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | I don't really care about the weight. Not like I am trying to build a Rally car...I just want it to look good. Besides for lightweight wheels I can still use my Rotas with slicks. |

| Professional STI Racer | Whatever you do don't let the board talk you out of your decision, there are a plenty of chrome wheels out there that will look bangin' on an STI. If you're not concerned about weight then do it. It's good to go against the grain, it's your car. I contemplated the wheels boost3d had on his car (not in chrome), wasn't sure how they'd look on Subie, now I know and I wish I was the first. Now I wouldn't dare do it cause somebody already did it. Find yourself some unusual chrome wheels throw 'em on and watch people switch sides. The first wheel is not my taste because I don't like wheels that poke out on a rounded angle, the second one may not look bad at all.! Here's a photoshop on chrome and a similar wheel to your second choice in the background Last edited by BBKG79; 11-15-2007 at 07:26 AM. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2004 Trader Rating: (7) | You don't care about weight? why did you buy an STi if you don't care about weight? I can understand not fighting for every pound (18lb wheels vs 20 or 21lbs) but blindly putting on a 25+lb chrome wheel simply for looks? what "slicks" are you running for autox? slicks are only allowed in prepared classes, unless you're talking about R-compound DOT approved street tires (which are not entirely a slick tire). Not all wheels clear our brakes, wheels with a "lip" generally have a spoke design that makes the lip larger. Making the lip larger usually means less brake clearance. i hope you're not shooting for more than maybe 1" lip tops. I'll gladly help you find a QUALITY polished wheel that fits what you're looking for, but for the love of all things holy stay away from chrome. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | I haven't had any problem finding wheels that will fit. I just wanted to see a few pictures of some STis with chrome wheels. Other than weight, I don't understand what is so bad about chrome wheels. They will match my stainless steel exhaust tip! |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 Trader Rating: (6) | It's your car, so it only really has to please you. I've only see one or two chrome-wheeled STis, one of which had the three-spoke Advan design on it (can't remember who this was). Chrome is heavy, as folks are saying. Listen to t3h_clap, as he's as close as you'll find to an encyclopedia of wheels, fitment, and clearance. You don't want to buy wheels only to find that they don't clear brembos. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | I bought the STi because I wanted an affordable 4 door car that was fast. Before I had a 350z. I loved the Z but I travel a lot and need something with more room for luggage and such. |
